Steven is one of Edgewater's most prolific and in-demand professional musicians.
Twenty-seven year old Steven is a life long resident of the Edgewater Community in Chicago (currently dividing his time between Chicago and Los Angeles).
Three generations of his family currently live in Edgewater, including his 97 year old grandfather, who moved to the community in 1956. Steven has a large and loyal group of supportive Edgewater residents, who come out to support his music and the local neighborhood businesses and organizations where he is performing.
Steven has provided music at major annual community events for 17 years, since the age of ten, including at Harry Osterman's Senior Health Fair at the Broadway Armory (for 4 years), the Edgewater Alley Fest (for 2 years), the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce Annual Holiday Mixer (for 4 years), the Edgewater Historical Society Annual Fundraiser Dinner Event (for 4 years), the Edgewater Art Fair (4 years), the Rogers Park Arts District Fest and other events.
In 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Steven was the "Musician In Residence" at the Edgewater Art Fair, giving main stage and Beer Garden solo performances, along with providing music during the Fair's special main stage events of the Fashion Show, Children's Art Showcase, Pet Costume Contest and producing and hosting the Children's Music Talent Showcase.
In 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Steven has been invited to be the featured solo performer and guest accompanist at community concerts for the renowned Edgewater Singers.
In the summer of 2012 Steven provided headline entertainment on six Saturdays between June and October at the Edgewater Farmers Market, sponsored by the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce and Alderman Harry Osterman's 48th Ward Office.
For seven years, from the ages 11 to 18, Steven entertained at the piano, twice monthly at Leona's Restaurant in Rogers Park. An unprecedented accomplishment for a professional pianist of such a young age at the time.
More currently Steven performed monthly for over two years at Edgewaters popular Diamond Ethiopian Restaurant.
Also in the Edgewater-Uptown - Rogers Park community, Steven has performed at the Green Mill Jazz Club, Reza’s Restaurant, The Little Mexican Café, Calo’s, Broadway Cellars, Lickity Split, Leona's Restaurant, Charlie’s Ale House, Speakeasy, Pressure Cafe, Edgewater Historical Museum, Hull House, Griffin Theatre, Broadway Armory, The Breakers of Edgewater, Dominicks on Broadway, Peppitones, Edgewater Saddle and Cycle Club, Loyola University and other venues.
Steven has also been hired to entertain at various fund raisers and events for numerous community based organizations and officials, including for State Senator Heather Steans, Current Chicago 48th Ward Alderman and former State Representative Harry Osterman, Former Chicago Alderman Mary Ann Smith, Former State Senator Carol Ronan, Former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, Maggie Daley, Secretary of State Jesse White, Former Governor Blagojevich, Jack Markowski (past City of Chicago Director of Housing), Janet Murphy, Peter Fassasis, Grace Barry, Leslie Hindman, Arnie Duncan, North Community Bank, Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, Edgewater Community Council, Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, Griffin Theatre Company, Edgewater Historical Society, Rogers Park Montessori School, Uptown Lions Club, Southeast Asia Center, Dominick’s Foods, Malibu East Condo Association, EPIC Block Club Community Group, CJE Senior Life, East Lake View Chamber of Commerce, First Commercial Bank, Jewish Federation of Chicago, and others.
Steven has performed at scores of private events for residents as they have celebrated special family events and holiday events.
Along with the aforementioned professional engagements, Steven has also donated his talents on numerous occasions to entertain the residents of many different senior centers and nursing homes in the community. And for fourteen straight years, starting at age 11, Steven has spent his Thanksgiving afternoons, volunteering his time at the piano for three hours entertaining over 1,000 needy residents of the Uptown-Edgewater community, who attend an annual free Thanksgiving Day Dinner that is held at Truman College in Uptown, sponsored by the Alliance of Midwest India Associations.
